Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Set Photo Reveals Another Young Sheldon Fan Favorite’s Return
A fan favorite character from Young Sheldon is confirmed to appear in the new spinoff series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. After debuting on CBS in October, the new series is currently on its winter hiatus.
In a recent post on Instagram, actor Doc Farrow shared an image of himself on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Farrow previously played Coach Wilkins in Young Sheldon, and a sign made for his character on the set of the spinoff confirms the character will appear in the back half of Season 1. In ther caption of his post, Farrow noted, “5 guesses where I am this week…? Grateful and blessed to be asked back.” Fans can see the post below.

No details have been revealed about the episode featuring Coach Wilkins, and it is unclear for now how the special appearance will play into the story. The character was notably involved in a major moment at the end of Young Sheldon, as he was one of two people (alongside Rex Linn’s Principal Petersen) who delivered the news to the Cooper family that George (Lance Barber) had passed away. There are still often references to George in the sequel series, despite the character’s passing, so it’s possible that Wilkins’ return will be related to another acknowledgment.
Other Familiar Faces Are Popping Up
There are other familiar faces that will be popping up as the show moves forward. Another recent report revealed that Matt Hobby will reprise his role as Pastor Jeff in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. In the first half of the season, main stars from Young Sheldon had also appeared with multiple episodes featuring Mary Cooper (Zoe Perry), Missy Cooper (Raegan Revord), and Meemaw (Annie Potts).
The Big Bang Theory was very popular in China before the authorities suddenly banned the series on all streaming websites in 2014.
However, the question remains of when Iain Armitage will make an appearance on the show as Sheldon Cooper. The character is away in California during the events of the show, so his absence is easy enough to explain. Even so, many fans will be hoping to see him showing up in some way before the season’s end. No official announcements have been made about his return, though Armitage has made it clear he’d be up for reprising the role if the show’s producers ever give him the call.

“If I got a call to go back, that’d be so much fun. I’d be honored to,” Armitage previously told TVLine. “I’m also just excited to get to sit back on my couch with some popcorn and watch their show because they’re so good. But I could totally see myself getting in the khakis again, putting on the old penny loafers and bow tie, and going back out on the job.”
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage returns to CBS on Jan. 30, 2025.
